Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music unearths a long-buried reel and sees 'Insane Mentality' finally unleashed to catalogue Caliban's ferocious 1973 studio demos. Formed in 1970 in Ormskirk, Lancashire, Caliban emerged from the remnants of 1960s Merseyside group The Rebels, which had featured guitarist Keith Hubbard, vocalist Roy Smith, and drummer Chris Kenny. Joined by bassist Ray Chapman, the new band took it's name from the dark character in Shakespeare's The Tempest, reflecting their heavier, more aggressive sound.
