The Fear of Standing Still is a record about growing up and growing older. I am not the wild partying 21 year old rock n roll front man that I used to be. I'm a husband. I'm a father. I've been sober for a decade now. It's a record that proves you don't have to always be going 100mph to find success in this business. It's a record that says "it's ok to take a minute to reflect on how far you've come, not worry about how much further you have to go". For the longest time I thought that if I took my foot off the gas for even a second, I would lose all the ground that I had gained. Fatherhood changed that. I've found a really beautiful balance between rock n roll and family and I wanted a record that showcased that freedom. In the studio, I've always strived to find the perfect balance between showcasing the songwriting and the fact that I have a really great rock n roll band. This record is the closest we've ever come to that intersection. These songs are big, anthemic rock songs but also stand on their own two feet when they are played on an acoustic guitar. We have always taken a lot of pride in that fact. Thematically, I cover a lot of ground on this record: nostalgia, death, regional identity, marriage, fatherhood, redemption, mental health. My records have always been a snapshot of the person I was when I wrote it and this record really finds the band and my songwriting both really hitting a stride. I feel extremely confident that this batch of songs will be in the set for years to come.

..Is Committed represents both a return to form and a mid-career left turn. Bemis still traffics in
exaggeration and Jewish humor, but the hyperbole has been tempered by the blows of reality.
This is no longer the angst of post-adolescence, but the grim phantasms of adulthood. Coming
full circle in a sense, Bemis says these are the most autobiographical songs that he’s written since
high school.
As with any Say Anything record, the songs are rollicking and self-referential, jampacked with
meta-references and in-jokes. Before “lore” became a Gen Z cliché, Bemis was employing it was
still called “world-building.” The opener “BE, CHILDREN (INTRODUCTION TO THE
REUNION RECORD)” starts off with what might as well be a mission statement: “to the self-
indulgent/indulge yourself with me.” It’s partially a satire of a reunion song, but filled with a
jarring and uncomfortable honesty that belies the tongue-in-cheek humor. It also rocks hard.
Bemis did not bring Say Anything back to make an Iron & Wine record.

AUTOGRAPHED LP - $5 from each sale benefits NAMI
Vinyl Color: blue and orange pinwheel. Originally released in 2019, Routine Maintenance, the second full-length (& second in the Aaron West trilogy) from Dan Campbell (frontman of Philadelphia pop punk legends, The Wonder Years), is a character study conducted through music. Picking up where the first installment of the trilogy, 2013's We Don't Have Each Other, leaves off, the album follows Brooklyn-native Aaron West as he formed his band (The Roaring Twenties) & travels across America, playing shows & meeting folks along the way. The album plays like a slice of life glimpse at America & a haunting interpretation of one's purpose in it. According to writer Hanif Abdurraqib, Routine Maintenance is the richest and most layered of the Aaron West albums from a standpoint of sound. With the final installment of the trilogy and a new tour on the way in 2024, Routine Maintenance is the bridge between the freshness of hurt & despair & the acceptance of suffering and recognition of one's flaws and responsibilities in the world.

Fully-backed by The Roaring Twenties (featuring members of The Wonder Years, Driver Friendly, and Dryjacket), the project that started with a man and his guitar has transformed into a rich slice of Americana harkening to Bruce Springsteen and The Mountain Goats.
