Sandbox" is the fifth studio album from the power pop pride and joy of Stillwater, Oklahoma: The All-American Rejects.Steeped heavily in accolades and accomplishments over the course of the past three decades (over 12,000,000 albums sold, collaborations with Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, performances at the Vancouver Olympic Games and Super Bowl XLIV, endless sold out venues around the globe, and beyond), 2025 saw perhaps the most interesting wrinkle in the history of the band... and the world took notice.Rather than skip down the well-worn, rote, and predictable path of re-entry back into the live concert industry, The All-American Rejects wanted to experience what it would feel like to go and play their music to people without the looming specter of monopolistic, oligarchic corporations hovering anywhere near their vision and execution. Networking exclusively with real fans, the band was able to turn a series of non-traditional music, independent venues (bowling alleys, giant backyards, skateparks, etc.) into a full-blown tour of pop-up/surprise shows, typically to the tune of several thousands of excited fans lining up mere minutes after announcements on social media.Ironically enough, eschewing everything traditional and bringing music directly to people sparked a bigger rush of mainstream media outlets, late night TV shows, and endless brands attempting to attach themselves to the phenomenon than if the band had plugged into just another open socket in a daisy-chain of endless power strips tethered to wall outlet inside of a board room of greedy, babbling suits. Due to the spiking popular demand, the band culminated the summer run of 2025 by headlining Warped Tour in Long Beach, California to 90,000+ fans on site and capped off 2025 with an appearance on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve."Sandbox" is a continuation of the DIY ethos. Tracked primarily at Wheelhouse Studios (guitarist Nick Wheeler's gorgeous hand-built studio) and produced by Wheeler, vocalist Tyson Ritter, and keyboardist Scott Chesak, THE ALL- AMERICAN REJECTS are seamlessly fusing all of the knowledge and skills acquired across their many years making music with all of the undeniable talent and artistic sensibilities that put them on the map in the first place.
