This release is part of the uDiscovermusic series, a new standard lineup for Universal Music's international catalog developed overseas and in Japan to serve as a place for "encounters with new music" by re-releasing masterpieces. It features the striking, self-titled 1986 debut album by the melodic pop band Crowded House, who hail from Australia and New Zealand. Produced by Mitchell Froom, this indomitable classic showcases songs of high completeness, including the massive hit "Don't Dream It's Over" (which reached No. 2 on the US chart), the world debut single "World Where You Live," "Something So Strong," and the concert opener "Mean To Me." The album reached No. 1 in Australia, No. 3 in New Zealand, and peaked at No. 12 in the United States, earning a Gold disc and propelling the band to worldwide recognition. Reissuing the content from the sold-out 30th anniversary deluxe edition released in 2016, this 2CD deluxe edition includes a bonus disc featuring 17 previously unreleased and rare tracks, such as home demos and live recordings.
