This CD, the first volume of Sonny Boy Williamson's chronological recordings, features the sparse "Eyesight To The Blind," with Willie Love in accompaniment, and "Mighty Long Time," with only the vocal bass effect from Cliff Givens of The Southern Sons gospel quartet in support. Other sessions utilized bigger groups; the earliest displaying the talent of long-time partner (and blues superstar-to-be) Elmore James, while for two years from the Summer of 1951, Davenport, Mississippi-born Joe Willie Wilkins provided the consistently fine guitar licks.
