Recorded during Pearl Jam�s March 5 1998 Melbourne Park show during the Australian tour in support of their fifth studio album Yield, the highly sought after Give Way is released on vinyl for the first time as well as officially released on CD. The 17-track album, pressed on double black vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve, includes live versions of �Given To Fly�, �Faithfull� and �Do The Evolution.� The CD, originally scheduled for release in 1998 as a promotional item, never saw the light of day outside of an extremely limited number surfacing over the years...until now.

The title of this Record Store Day 2023 release, Give Way, is a nod to the Australian counterpart to the United States� yield sign.

In 1984, Robert Diggs, now known as RZA, formed a rap group with his cousins Russell Jones and Gary Grice which they called �All In Together Now�. �Diggs and Grice then signed with Jamaica Records for management purposes and Jamaica convinced Tommy Boy Records to sign Diggs as a solo artist under the name Prince Rakeem in 1989. ��Ooh I Love You Rakeem� was released as a single but Diggs was subsequently dropped by Tommy Boy Records, and later went on to form the Wu Tang Clan. This remastered, colored, single contains the track title, �Sexcapades� & �Deadly Venoms� and was initially released in 1991.

Shamballa is the 1993 collaboration from jazz drummer William Hooker, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), and composer Elliott Sharp. The release features Hooker performing duets with each musician. Known to many for their uplifting hit song �O-o-h Child,� STAIRSTEPS (formerly The Five Stairsteps) were The First Family of Soul, providing the template for family bands like The Jackson 5. Originally discovered by Curtis Mayfield, they were introduced to The Beatles by Billy Preston. All Directions is the superb album produced by Motown�s psychedelic mastermind Norman Whitfield, and includes one of The Temptations� signature songs, �Papa Was a Rollin� Stone�, �Papa� won three Grammy Awards in 1973: Best R&B Performance by a Group, Best R&B Instrumental Performance, and Best R&B Song. The album was #1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart in 1972, and #2 on the Billboard Top 200, making it the band�s most successful non-collaborative album on the chart. This classic live concert from 1976 was the last show of Peter�s first solo US tour, supporting the Legalize It album, which had been released four months earlier. The rhythm section on the tour, and thus on this release, consists of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. This first vinyl pressing, on double transparent yellow vinyl, comes to record stores for Record Store Day 2023.

Harry Whitaker is a piano player, producer and arranger who at the age of 26 recorded Black Renaissance "Body, Mind, and Spirit," a holy grail amongst collectors of soul-jazz and rare groove, and an album so rare it's virtually a myth to many.

Made up of two long tracks that periodically build and release for forty minutes over two sides of an LP it's an improvised masterpiece combining Afrocentric spiritual soul, jazz, poetry, amazing solos, a tasty bass line or two and more than a fair share of funky beats. It's also one of the earliest jazz albums to feature rapping. "I called the project Black Renaissance because that is what I wanted to see happen - especially in music. I describe it as Dixieland circa 1976 - by the end of the songs everyone is playing together."

Given its rarity, when asked if he was surprised that people knew about the album Whitaker jokes "I've told enough people about it over the years! Now they can actually hear it. It was a record before it's time. It's not a commercial release - I think of it as classical. You can call it jazz, but it's free, it's got African roots, it's for people who people who dig that sound."

Harry Whitaker has enjoyed a successful career as a producer, arranger and composer, cutting his teeth on the best of the Roy Ayers Ubiquity releases and making a living working closely with Roberta Flack - as her musical director, even playing on her big Eugene McDaniels' written hit "I Feel Like Makin' Love." Black Renaissance "Body, Mind, and Spirit," was his first attempt at a project where he wrote and composed the music and played keys on both tracks.
