New Release Round-Up 05-02-25
Maddie & Tae - Love & Light - Mercury Nashville
Maddie & Tae will be releasing their 3rd studio album with 16 brand new songs. Together as longtime friends and music collaborators, Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr previously drew praise for their 1-2 punch project Through The Madness Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and their No. 1 debuting The Way It Feels album. The album’s 3X Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Die From A Broken Heart” topped the country airplay charts, making Maddie & Tae the first and only female twosome with multiple No. 1s. Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant counter to bro-country, the Platinum-selling smash, “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and establishing them as only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts. They took home Group/Duo Video of the Year (“Woman You Got”) at the 2022 CMT Music Awards and were recently nominated for Duo of the Year at the 59th ACM Awards.
Eric Church - Evangeline vs. The Machine - EMI Nashville
Eric Church’s eighth studio album, Evangeline vs. The Machine features 8 new songs, including “Darkest Hour” and “Hands of Time.” A seven-time ACM Award-winner, four-time CMA Award-winner (including the highest honor for Entertainer of the Year) and 10-time GRAMMY-nominee, Church has amassed a passionate fan base around the globe known as the Church Choir, plus a critically acclaimed catalog of music. This followed his Gold-certified Desperate Man, which earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album (his third nod in the category) and prior releases, including the platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”), the 2x platin-certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”) and the 3x platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 36 gold, platinum and multiplatinum songs.

What's New 5-2-25
One of country music’s most fearless storytellers marks another ambitious chapter in his groundbreaking career. Church has always championed the power of cohesive storytelling, and Evangeline vs. The Machine is no exception. “An album is a snapshot in time that lasts for all time,” Church shares of the creative approach behind the highly-anticipated new project.
Widely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation or any other, Suzanne Vega releases her first studio album of new songs in eleven years. "Each song on Flying With Angels takes place in an atmosphere of struggle", Vega notes, "struggle to survive, to speak, to dominate, to win, to escape, to help someone else, or just live".
Through much of her second album as Bombshell, Sabrina Teitelbaum’s weapon of choice is knowingly melancholic self-reflection fueled by thunderous, rhythmic guitar and soaring choruses. But despite the turbulence emotions, Teitelbaum keeps her sound tight and focused — giving the album enormous impact.
Want spans the existential, spiritual, and mundane; romantic to platonic to familial. It’s at once wildly ambitious yet piercingly relatable; all set to catchy melodies blended with pop instincts, country storytelling and the raw immediacy of a basement punk show. In other words, a classic Esther Rose album.
While The Scholars has some of the most expansive CSH songs to date, they know how to make each part of the journey compelling, filling the runtimes with unexpected turns and enervating hooks. And moments like the jaunty “The Catastrophe” show they haven’t lost their ability to write a short-and-sweet single that chimes like classic ‘60s folk pop, updated for the present.

What's New 4-25-25
After six albums of Beelzebub-bothering, Ghost's melodic metal is more tempting than ever. And while it may not boast the same instant hooks of some earlier albums, Skeleta instead offers something more substantial. Through a rich exploration of genres and a new level of emotional depth, it becomes clear that this was made with a new vision in mind, and comes as the promising start of a new Ghost chapter.
A testament to momentum, Unatoned is honed to its sharpest edge, forged on creative discipline and the hunger to push forward. It drips with melancholy melodies, and yet hammers with bludgeoning riffs, soars with anthemic sing-a-longs of love-lost and sadness, to bellowing power and undeniable confidence. Eleven albums deep, Machine Head remain as fierce, relevant, and unstoppable as ever.
The latest (recorded from May to December 1977) of Young's great “lost” albums to be released as part of his Analog Original Series. For most songwriters, an album this potent, hauntingly performed, would be an all-time classic. For Young, it’s one of many that were originally shelved in favor of even stronger material, or simply because it didn’t match the mood of the moment.
Withered completes the story laid out in his 2023 EPs, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, as he continues to articulate a relationship’s ricocheting emotions: the coruscating highs and bleak lows, all set to music that’s intimate, hook-heavy, and refreshingly direct. Heartbreak has rarely sounded so pristine
Clever, relatable lyricism backed by moody undertones and infectious grooves showcases the band's pivot into more confessional songwriting and finding their sonic step. Across 11 tracks, Obsession explores themes of love, longing, and loss through a uniquely captivating sonic profile rife with electric riffs, robust synths, and strong drums.
From triumphant opener “Long Is The Road” to the emotionally resonant “Found A Friend In You” to the raucous “Rum Boogie”, the music is a vibrant blend of Memphis soul and blues, warm sister harmonies, and positive messages reminiscent of The Staple Singers. With the closing, ruminative “We Are”, Family unveils hard-hitting, universal truths about the unshakable power of togetherness.
One of the most formidable guitarists in recent history, Samantha Fish brings both mind-blowing power and extraordinary emotionality to everything she creates. For help in shaping Paper Doll’s magnificently rowdy but deeply nuanced sound, Fish reunited with Detroit garage-rock icon Bobby Harlow, marking the latest entry in an uncompromising and adventurous catalog.
Co-founding members of The Carolina Chocolate Drops, banjo player Giddens and fiddle player Robinson reunite for an exuberantly rootsy duo album. Recorded largely outdoors at the home of their late mentor, fiddle legend Joe Thompson, the album has the warm glow and relaxed feeling of a back-porch summer jam session… and the joy is palpable.
This is a band following their muse with smarts and muscle, allowing for some new wrinkles and trips down less traveled detours. After over four decades, the Melvins still sound utterly uncompromised and full of swampy vigor, and Thunderball confirms they haven't finished challenging themselves or their audience, not by a long shot.
Filipino-Australian Gen-Z crooner grentperez explores the sweet and surreal world of relationships in his debut album. From the tingling-pop of "Fuzzy Feeling" with Benny Sings and fresh coolness of "2DK" to the heartfelt longings of "Dandelion" with Ruel and "Movie Scene", Backflips in a Restaurant is grentperez’s most sonically diverse body of work to date.
OK GO has built its reputation on creativity through visual mediums like unique videos and unexpected collaborations. But all of those creative outlets are fed by the band’s music, and on its fifth album, And the Adjacent Possible, OK GO further tests the unorthodox while maintaining their signature core of hooky bops.
In the making of their latest, the Mobile-bred country duo dug deeper into their roots than ever before, dreaming up a batch of songs inspired by the places they know best: the blue-collar melting pot of their coastal hometown, bustling Cajun fishing villages and desolate timberlands, the untamed and idyllic spaces where they ran wild as children.

d4vd - WITHERED - Darkroom/Interscope Records
d4vd’s debut album, WITHERED, is one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the year. It completes the story laid out in his 2023 EPs, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, as he continues to articulate a relationship’s ricocheting emotions: the coruscating highs and bleak lows, all set to music that’s intimate, hook-heavy, and refreshingly direct. Created primarily on Bandlab, WITHERED brought d4vd back to the place his music journey began: his sister’s closet, alone with his iPhone. To finish the record, d4vd journeyed to London with a trusted crew of collaborators to create a cohesive, intimate record that’s meant to be listened to sequentially — the songs consumed like chapters — that spotlights his evolution as a deft and dynamic vocalist.

Made From The Dirt not only showcases Kassi's one-of-a-kind signature style front and center, but it also tells her story so far. She holds nothing back on these ten tracks - from the knockout title track "Made From The Dirt" to the exhale of the finale "Juanita." Spiking her brand of country with rock 'n' roll spirit and unabashed vulnerability, she proudly wears her heart on her sleeve.
