Give The Gift Of Music 2023

10-year anniversary edition of the debut record by Alabama Shakes. Boys & Girls, has sold over 1 millions copies, was nominated for multiple Grammys and brought the band international acclaim.
It is repackaged here in a foil-board gatefold jacket with new photos and a bonus radio session of 12 raw and explosive tracks from KCRW, recorded in January 2012 just as the band were ready to be unleashed.
With Ask, the Amsterdam-based sextet Altin Gün marks an exuberant return to the 70s Anatolian folk-rock sound that characterized their first two albums, On (2018) and Gece (2019). It is also the closest the band have come so far to capturing the infectious energy of their live performances. “We took a very traditional approach to recording a rock album, like in the 70s,” bassist Jasper Verhulst says, with the band using vintage recording equipment to give the set a warm, welcoming sound.
Screenprinted disc housed in a six-panel wallet with a four-panel lyric booklet. All artwork by John Dyer Baizley. Produced by Baroness, mixed by Joe Barresi, mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering.
Grammy-award nominated heavy rock outfit Baroness mark their much-anticipated return with new album, STONE. Their sixth record overall and third released via Abraxan Hymns, STONE finds the Philadelphia-based quartet of John Baizley (guitars/vocals/illustration), Gina Gleason (guitars), Nick Jost (bass), and Sebastian Thomson (drums) streamlining the momentous multi-genre vocabulary of its critically-acclaimed predecessor Gold & Grey (2019). This is still very much Baroness—just refocused for efficiency and rethought as a consequence of stability. STONE’s most prominent tracks, "Last Word,” “Beneath the Rose,” “Shine,” and “Anodyne," reflect thoughtfully, groove deeply, and refract tumult effortlessly. They, of course, rock.

"World Music Radio is the new musical transmission from GRAMMY® and Oscar® winner Jon Batiste, following his acclaimed hit record WE ARE.
This concept album stars Batiste as interstellar traveling griot/DJ Billy Bob Bo Bob who examines popular music from around the globe on a radio broadcast to the rest of the universe - begging the question, isn’t all music, world music?
World Music Radio sees Batiste reach new artistic heights with collaborators Jon Bellion, J.I.D, Camilo, NewJeans and others."
2023 is really starting to heat up for rock band Beartooth, now with 1.2 billion career streams, over 800,000 records sold, “Best International Artist” win at the Heavy Music Awards 2022, and recent nomination for ‘Best Heavy Record’ for their US radio hit single “Riptide” at the A2IM Libera Awards. Beartooth hit the top of both the Billboard Mainstream Rock & US Active Rock radio charts in May 2023, landing at #1 with their Papa Roach collab single “Cut The Line”. Thus begins a new era for the band, marked by their most successful UK & European spring headline tour (headlining at Wembley Arena), and 2-month US Co-Headline tour with Trivium, top billing at Sonic Temple Festival and “Sunshine!” fan track release in April (currently #1 on SiriusXM Octane’s Big Uns Countdown). Beartooth now prepare to release their biggest and most commercial rock record to date, as follow-up to their 2021 chart topping album “Below” which debuted at #30 on the Billboard 200 and cleaned up on Luminate’s US Sales charts (#1 Alternative, Rock, and Hard Rock, #2 Vinyl, Independent and Current Album sales).
Artist Quote on Album: “The Surface” “Beartooth’s entire discography has been snapshots of my inner monologue and emotional state over the years with a recurring theme, depression and self loathing. It’s been tough to understand why I’ve felt the way I do for so long. During the pandemic I was faced with 2 distinct paths in life. One, I continue doing nothing to manage the realities of my mental health and continue down a path of self destruction, ultimately ending in my demise. Two, choose to do the work needed to maintain a healthier relationship with myself, no matter how difficult or painful.
This album is the story of my beginnings in the new world I’ve created for myself. One focused on health, self love, positivity, understanding, hard work, and most of all second chances. At the end of the day, life is short for all of us. We can’t escape the end, so why not make friends with it and live in a world focused on living a personally fulfilling life.” – Caleb Shomo of Beartooth

But Here We Are is the new album from Foo Fighters, and marks the bands return after a year of staggering losses, personal introspection and bittersweet remembrances. A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters have endured recently, But Here We Are is a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family. Courageous, damaged and unflinchingly authentic, the album opens with “Rescued,” the first of 10 songs that run the emotional gamut from rage and sorrow to serenity and acceptance, and myriad points in between.
But Here We Are is in nearly equal measure the 11th Foo Fighters album and the first chapter of the band’s new life. Sonically channeling the naiveté of Foo Fighters’ 1995 debut, informed by decades of maturity and depth, But Here We Are is the sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that brought them together in the first place 28 years ago, a process that was as therapeutic as it was about a continuation of life.

Composer, singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Laufey continues her story by writing and recording Bewitched, her second album. Inspired by jazz greats and classical masters while possessing a point of view that could only be conveyed by a 21st-century twentysomething, Bewitched represents an expansion of Laufey’s sonic palette. Tracks like the breezy bossa nova cut “From The Start” and the smoldering string-assisted ballad “Promise” have classic songcraft and intricate arrangements that make them feel instantly timeless, while Laufey’s conversational lyrics give her music a relatability to the next generation of jazz, pop, and classical aficionados
Raised in Long Beach, Lil Peep (born Gustav Åhr) launched his career through the self-release of his music online as a teenager. He garnered attention in 2015 following the success of a slew of singles and his first solo mixtapes, "Lil Peep; Part One" and "Live Forever". Over the course of two years, Peep amassed millions of fans, who connected with him through his gritty lyrics that explored themes of love, loss and loneliness. Branded "the future of emo" by Pitchfork in January 2017, Peep's genre-bending style contributed to his reputation as a pioneer of the late 2010s post-emo revival, dishing out a handful of full-lengths and several extended-plays all before the release of his debut album "Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1" in 2017. After his breakthrough 2016 mixtapes "Crybaby" and "Hellboy" made waves in underground circles, Peep toured the United States and Europe, walked the runways at Fashion Week and began collaborating with increasingly prominent artists between New York, Los Angeles and London throughout 2017. At the time of his death just two weeks after his 21st birthday, Peep had achieved status as one of the scene's most promising rising stars. Since his emergence in 2015, he has racked up 5 billion views on YouTube and over 20 billion streams across all platforms.
