Named for the city that launched the original Alice Cooper group on the road to success, Detroit Stories follows last years Breadcrumbs EP as a modern-day homage to the toughest and craziest Rock n Roll scene there ever was.
In 1970, fledgling producer Bob Ezrin walked into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Detroit to work with the Alice Cooper band. Abandoning flower power Los Angeles, because they were the opposite of the hippie peace and love ideal, Alice had brought his decidedly darker gang back to his birthplace to the legendary rock scene that gave birth to hard rock, garage rock, soul, funk, punk...and more.
Ezrin drilled the band for 10 hours a day to define their signature sound. Whenever they nailed a song, the inmates at the hospital for the criminally insane across the road cheered and thus the classic Alice Cooper sound was born.
Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield, says Alice Cooper, San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit... we were home.
50 years later Alice and Ezrin gathered some legendary Detroit musicians in a Detroit studio to record Detroit Stories, Alice Coopers new album that celebrates that spirit for a new era. If 2019s Breadcrumbs EP laid down the trail to the city, Detroit Stories drives like a muscle car right down Woodward Ave.
Discover Detroit Stories as they were meant to be told.
Life is Not a Lesson is Glitterers second full-length album, featuring Ned Russin, bassist/vocalist of seminal hardcore-punk band Title Fight. This time Ned has produced the record himself, notwithstanding some recording and performance help from his twin brother, Ben, and some other friends, as well as mixing and mastering by Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Power Trip). It may surprise you to hear that, irrespective of worldly doom and gloom, the new songs are even catchier and bigger-sounding than those from his 2019 release, Looking Through the Shades. With roomier drums and more electric-guitars-per-square-inch than ever, Life is Not a Lesson has a way of evoking an alternate-universe version of Guided By Voices, one with a hardcore-punk background. Life is Not a Lesson proves to be a rigorous reckoning with the life of the mind at a time when theres not much life outside the mind.
ARCHITECTS are back with their ninth studio albumFor Those That Wish To Exist. The band have confirmed their ascent to the very upper echelons of British heavy music. Few bands, of this modern era or any other, can match the quintets ability to blend uncompromising heavi-ness with razor-sharp melodic musicianship.
A versatile metal group based out of Brighton, England, Architects employ a lethal combination of breakdown-heavy guitars, melodic vocals and symphonic-ambient post-metal. That sonic delivery is conducted from a platform built on veganism and environmental activism.
The self-titled, full-length debut from Bones Owens is a selection of songs both gloriously gritty and undeniably euphoric. In a bold departure from the moody Americana of his acclaimed EPs Hurt No One and Make Me No King, the Missouri-bred musicians first release with Thirty Tigers delivers a powerful sound deeply inspired by 60s garage-rock, Hill Country blues, and the swampy roots-rock of bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival (the first record I remember stealing from my dad when I was ten and just starting to play guitar, according to Owens). A potent showcase for his formidable guitar worka talent hes displayed in performing with artists as eclectic as Yelawolf and Mikky EkkoBones Owens arrives as a full-tilt expression of Owens wildest impulses, all swinging rhythms, and swaggering riffs.
Amsterdam's Altin Gn have built a strong reputation for fusing past and present to make brilliantly catchy, upbeat pop music, as seen with their Grammy-nominated second album, Gece. Yol, their third album in as many years, continues that trend; while unveiling a number of sonic surprises in their continued exploration of Anatolian rock and Turkish psych-folk.
The Black Crowes Present: Shake Your Money Maker, the multi-platinum debut by the seminal rock n' roll band celebrates its 30th Anniversary with a suite of reissues. The 1LP Black vinyl version features the original album, remastered.

Little Oblivions is the third studio album by Julien Baker. Recorded in Memphis, TN, the record weaves together unflinching autobiography with assimilated experience and hard-won observations from the past few years, taking Baker's capacity for storytelling to new heights. It also marks a sonic shift, with the songwriter's intimate piano and guitar arrangements newly enriched by bass, drums, keyboards, banjo, and mandolin with nearly all of the instruments performed by Baker.
Honoring the enduring inspiration of Frank Sinatra, Thats Life is Willie Nelsons second album of classics made famous by The Chairman Of The Board. Willies first ode to Frank, 2018's My Way, earned Willie the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Solo Album, and That's Life finds Nelson (who has penned a few standards himself) inhabiting 11 more of the most treasured songs in the Great American Songbook including the title track, "Luck Be A Lady, "Nice Work If You Can Get It," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "You Make Me Feel So Young," and "I Won't Dance" (a duet featuring Diana Krall). Produced by Buddy Cannon and Matt Rollings, That's Life was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood--where Frank Sinatra, created a string of album masterpieces--with additional recording at Pedernales Studios in Austin, Texas. Willie delivers 11 new studio performances, coming alive in a musical landscape animated by lush string and vibrant horn arrangements on an album mixed by recording industry legend Al Schmitt (who's recorded and mixed more than 150 gold and platinum albums and won more Grammy Awards than any other engineer or mixer). The album cover features a brand new painting of Willie and his iconic guitar, Trigger, standing in the glow of a twilight streetlamp, evoking classic Sinatra album covers of yore.

Mouse on Mars, duo Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma, approach electronic music with an inexhaustible curiosity and unparalleled ingenuity. AAI (Anarchic Artificial Intelligence) takes their fascination with technology and exploration a quantum leap further. Working with AI tech collective Birds on Mars and former Soundcloud programmers Ranny Keddo and Derrek Kindle, the duo collaborated on the creation of software capable of modeling speech. Text and voice from writer/scholar Louis Chude-Sokei, and DJ/producer Ya'mur Uçkunkaya were fed into the software as a model, allowing Toma and Werner to control parameters like speed or mood, thereby creating a kind of speech instrument they could control and play like a synthesizer. The album's narrative is mirrored in the sound of artificial intelligence growing, learning and speaking. This exploration of artificial intelligence as both a narrative framework and compositional tool, allowing them to summon their most explicitly science-fiction work to date.

Fueled by the successful singles "Change (In the House of Flies)" and "Digital Bath," the album is the band's highest selling album and is certified platinum by the RIAA. Steve Lukather aka Luke and Joseph Williams will release individual solo albums on February 26, 2021 via The Players Club / Mascot Label Group. Both artists have made significant contributions to the others album. Joseph Williams fronted Toto as a lead vocalist from 1986 to 1988, and was featured on the albums Fahrenheit (1986) and The Seventh One (1988). He also appeared on the 2006 release Falling in Between, sharing lead vocals with Luke on Bottom of Your Soul. In 2010 he returned to the band, becoming front man and lead vocalist, a tenure that continues through today. Denizen Tenant features a dozen new recordings. Amongst these are a cover of The Beatles If I Fell, which Williams cites as the one specific song that taught him about the power of harmonies and vocal arrangements. On Peter Gabriels Dont Give Up, a very special guest performance is featured in his daughter Hannah laying down a vocal track. Joseph Williams Denizen Tenant was self-produced outside of the compositions "Black Dahlia" and "No Lessons" which were arranged and produced by Jay Gruska and mixed by Dave Way. The musicians and singers who made contributions in the studio reads like a whos who of players that have been in the artists life over the past four decades. Amongst these contributors are band-mates from Toto David Paich and Steve Lukather. Simon Phillips, Leland Sklar, Lenny Castro, Nathan East, all of whom enjoyed tenures in Toto are also featured players on the album.

Menahan Street Band, a veritable supergroup of some of today's most prolific songwriters, arrangers, and producers return with this beat-forward, cinematic masterpiece. If you have spent any time hanging out in bars, cafes, or casually tuning into NPR in the last 10 years you should be well versed in MSB's catalog. Their unique brand of instrumental soul has not only been the foundation for some of modern hip-hop's most successful beats, it has also become the perennial soundtrack and veritable vibe-generator for countless parties, art shows, and restaurants throughout NYC and abroad. While this album carries the aesthetic torch that MSB has skillfully woven into the tapestry of their DNA, it also delves deeper into the experimental, exotic sounds that fill many of the coveted Sound Library and Soundtrack LPs of the late sixties and early seventies - an amalgamation of moog synths, electric pianos, drum machines, and a bevy of analog instrumentation, that ebb and flow in lush swells of Morriconian grandeur.
KCRW states that Brazilian singer/songwriter/musician Dom La Nena "...sings barely above a whisper though her melodies can penetrate the darkest heart." She has been championed by outlets such as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and NPR's All Things Considered and is one half of the popular French duo Birds On A Wire. "Todo Tiene Su Fin" is the brand new track from Dom and a taste of her upcoming self-produced album "Tempo," arriving February 2021.
The 1994 compilation featuring his Atlantic era hits such as What'd I Say, Pt. 1 & 2, The Right Time, and I've Got a Woman.

Originally released on Nov 20, 2020, a new deluxe version will now be released on CD and digitally on Feb 26 and on vinyl LP on April 23. This HARMONY DELUXE version has 6 new songs including: Nature Boy (from Moulin Rouge), Ill Stand By You [Duet with Helene Fischer],(originally recorded by The Pretenders), and I Can See Clearly Now (popularized by Johnny Nash). The making of the original album and the title have been very cathartic for Josh. He wanted to go back to basics, and interpret songs that make him feel good, are a blast to sing, and most importantly, are songs that fans have asked for. Josh has performed many of them on the road and in other settings in the past few years. The album is essentially a collection of timeless songs along with two originals. Highlights include The Impossible Dream (from the play and film the Man of La Mancha), The World We Knew (Over and Over) (popularized by Frank Sinatra); Angels (popularized by Robbie Williams), The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (popularized by Roberta Flack), Its Now or Never (popularized by Elvis Presley), Celebrate Me Home (popularized by Kenny Loggins) and I Can't Make You Love Me. Special guest appearances on the album include an amazing duet with Leslie Odom Jr (TONY award for Hamilton on Broadway) on Shape Of My Heart (popularized by Sting), plus a stunning duet with Sara Bareilles of the Joni Mitchell song Both Sides Now, and Kirk Franklin bringing his unique blend of energy and a choir to a new and timely original called The Fullest.
The Schatze b/w Failure 7" features two new tracks from Ohtis, including a duet with Stef Chura, and was mixed by Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, Angel Olsen, St. Vincent). It follows the release of Ohtis' critically acclaimed 2019 debut album Curve of Earth. The release is led by â''Schatze,â' a new song that features Stef Chura. A character study of the Selfish Antisocial Male, it is told primarily through the lens of his long put-upon girlfriend - which Chura acts the part of - in a series of complaints about his objectionable behavior. B-side "Failure" can be seen as the Selfish Antisocial Male in a moment of introspective crisis. He is struck by fear and panic about the consequences of his behaviors. Offering even further insight into a brutally honest mind, the two new songs are dark, raw, but always tinged with a compelling sense of sardonic wit.
The American Negro is an unapologetic critique, detailing the systemic and malevolent psychology that afflicts people of color. This project dissects the chemistry behind blind racism, using music as the medium to restore dignity and self-worth to my people. It should be evident that any examination of black music is an examination of the relationship between black and white America. This relationship has shaped the cultural evolution of the world and its negative roots run deep into our psyche. Featuring various special guests performing over a deeply soulful, elaborate orchestration, The American Negro reinvents the black native tongue through this album and it's attendant short film (TAN) and 4-part podcast (invisible Blackness). The American Negro - both as a collective experience and as individual expressions - is insightful, provocative and inspiring and should land at the center of our ongoing reckoning with race, racism and the writing of the next chapter of American history.
